Position Overview:
ASET Partners is seeking an Event Monitoring Services Engineer to join our Network Operating Center (NOC) team. The NOC provides support to GSA’s internal infrastructure and applications, serving as the central point of contact for incident reports, network troubleshooting, and technical assistance. This role is essential in ensuring the continuous performance of GSA's IT environment and driving digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support via phone, remote, and desk-side channels in areas of network connectivity and Building Automation Switches (BAS).
  • Proactively monitor GSA infrastructure using SolarWinds and other tools.
  • Assist with Help Desk tasks, including handling phone calls, web-based queries, and monitoring the EM&EM Ticketing queue.
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails and statistical records of all incidents and reported conditions.
  • Assist with basic network and server configuration tasks.
  • Respond to complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Interface with telecommunications vendor support during outages to ensure timely resolution.
  • Support routine testing, monitoring, and analysis of network facilities (power, software, modems, etc.).
  • Utilize hardware and software tools to diagnose and troubleshoot network performance issues.
  • Assist with installation, support, and troubleshooting of LAN/MAN/WAN systems.
  • Provide operational support for IT systems, including computer, telecommunications, and security protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Training and Certification (must be obtained within 120 days of hire).
  • 1+ year of experience using SolarWinds or a similar tool.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple complex assignments.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, contributing to team performance and client satisfaction.
  • Must be available to work Sunday-Wednesday, 9 AM to 7 PM.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with hardware and software support for routers, switches, servers, printers, scanners, and video teleconferencing systems.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting wireless networks and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including holidays, in a 24/7/365 NOC environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively with team members and clients.
  • Knowledge of key technologies, including Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, and Cisco Prime.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4-9 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working remotely with a strong ability to manage time and demonstrate self-discipline.

Physical Requirements:

  • Maintain a safe and secure remote workspace, adhering to company policies.
  • Engage in virtual meetings via video and communicate clearly in writing and orally.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and view computer screens.
  • Minimal travel (0-5%) required, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
