Job Overview

ASET Partners is seeking a GIS Application & Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain GIS tools, applications, and databases. This role requires expertise in GIS concepts, computer graphics, relational databases, and programming languages relevant to GIS development. The ideal candidate will work independently to support complex geospatial analysis, data management, and software development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop GIS tools and applications to support analytical and mapping projects.

• Perform complex geospatial analyses and create multi-layered maps using GIS applications.

• Design and implement data conversion procedures for GIS databases.

• Ensure software and database quality control through rigorous testing and validation.

• Work closely with GIS users to define application requirements and specifications.

• Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design, and development.

• Maintain and manipulate digital databases using GIS programming languages and markup languages.

• Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Mid-Level: Minimum of six (6) years of experience in GIS and related development.

  • Senior-Level: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in GIS and related development.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in GIS concepts, computer graphics fundamentals, and relational database fundamentals.

  • Experience developing complex GIS analysis and mapping solutions.

  • Proficiency in coding and manipulating digital databases.

  • Experience with GIS programming languages, Internet markup languages, and other relevant technologies.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field with GIS experience.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing GIS applications for government or defense-related projects.

• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages for GIS automation.

• Knowledge of web-based GIS application development and cloud-based GIS solutions.
